Introducing the Light House: A Home for Spiritual Growth & Guidance!

We are pleased to announce that the Lord has given us the opportunity to purchase the home across the street from the ministry! When renovations are completed, it will serve as a home for residential mentoring and a cozy spot for Bible studies and counseling sessions. Da’Cino Dees who has been with us for many years and participated in LOV’s programs as a child will serve as the primary resident and mentor to younger, male residents. We are excited to see how the Lord will use this space in the years to come!

We have already begun work on the house to transform it into a bright, welcoming space for residents and neighbors alike. On MLK Day, a group from Spring Hill College came to move everything out and give us a clean slate from which to start.
We are working with a contractor and volunteer designer to ensure renovations are done with excellence and will serve our participants well. Yet we are operating with cost in mind and attempting to be as frugal as possible. We are also enlisting the help of volunteers to handle a variety of tasks. A few prospective residents even came out this weekend to help us prepare the walls for painting!

If your church, civic group, or organization would like to volunteer to transform the Light House, please contact Morgan at 334.406.0221 or volunteer@lightofthevillage.org.

If you are interested in sponsoring a specific renovation project to help fund the cost of the renovations, we would love for you to “Adopt a Project! We are projecting that we should be able to move mentees into the house by summer. Your partnership in this endeavor would be greatly appreciated! You can review the list of items which are in need of funding and learn how to contribute here.

We thank the Lord, you, and all of our amazing partners for the opportunity to serve our community in new and necessary ways! We appreciate your prayers as we embark on this new journey!

The mission continues…
